Northern Blue Flag has deep blue to purple flowers, the foliage is sword-like, and the flowers are complex and very showy. It matures to 24-36″ in height and grows best in wet, wet mesic, and mesic soil conditions. Iris versicolor prefers full sun to partial shade.
